What is Microneedling?
Collagen induction therapy (CIT), also known as microneedling, dermarolling, or skin needling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles (microneedling the skin). CIT should be separated from other contexts in which microneedling devices are used on the skin, e.g. transdermal drug delivery, vaccination.
It is a technique for which research is ongoing but has been used for a number of skin problems including scarring and acne. Some studies have also shown that, when combined with minoxidil treatment, microneedling is able to treat hair loss more effectively than minoxidil treatment alone.
From a study in 2009, authored by J Cutan Aesthetic Surg, we can know that microneedling therapy seems to be a simple and effective treatment option for the management of atrophic facial scars.
After several professional treatments, over 80% of the patients saw a reduction in scarring and rated their treatment as “excellent.”
Today, we’re going to explore microneedling and dermarolling to find out exactly what is involved in the processes and what they promise to do for skin.
What could possibly be the benefits of microneedling?
1. Reduce the Appearance of Lines and Wrinkles
The microneedling mechanisms stimulate your body to produce new skin cells and boost the collagen and elastin production, making fine lines, and wrinkles less appearance.
2. Scar Treatment
Microneedling therapy, also known as collagen induction therapy, it is super effective in addressing acne and other scars on your face.
3 Brightening the Skin Tone
Microneedling is effective in reducing the appearance of sun sport, particularly hyperpigmentation and age sports.
4. Hydration and Anti-Aging
Aging doesn’t just show up as wrinkles and discoloration. As you get older, your skin loses its elasticity, so it appears lax. Aging skin may also look dull and lack a lustrous glow. Microneedling can change this.
5. Shrinks Pores
The microneedling punch small holes in your skin, when the collagen around your pores is stimulated, the area around the pores plump, making the pore itself almost disappear.
6. Improve the Effectiveness of Topical Products
The microneedling make many micro-holes on your skin, which generate many channls that can effectively bring vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, and plant extracts to rejuvenate and tighten skin.
7. Fight Strech Marks
Microneedling works just about anywhere on your body. It can be effective in reducing the appearance of stretch marks that show up after periods of rapid growth, such as during pregnancy.
8. Promote Hair Growth
Microneedling with mesotherapy serum help restore thinning hair and help promote hair regrowth. The micro holes delivers nutrients to improve the tissue environment and help to stimulate hair growth, improve blood flow reviving the hair follicles.
9. Anti Cellulite
For cellulite, microneedling treatment works because it is able to penetrate the thicker layers of skin on the thighs and buttocks, which enables the needling device to reach the layers of fat beneath the surface of the skin
How to do Microneedling?
1. Use a Dermapen
The dermapen has tiny needles at the end that make little holes or needle pricks in the top layers of your skin.
2. Use a Derma Roller
Another method of microneedling uses a dermaroller, which looks like a miniature paint roller with lots of tiny needles.

What is Needle Cartridge?
Unlike dermarollers, microneedling pens require needle cartridges to use for the session. There are several types of needle cartridges from Nano, 12 pins, 16 pins, 24 pins, 36 pins to Maximum 42 pins.
Nano-needle cartridges are best used for beginners who may not be used to the piercing feeling of microneedling. This is enough to stimulate the skin on a superficial level while helping with skin problems like fine lines and textured skin. 36-pin needle cartridges, on the other hand, are for more heavy-duty skin concerns like facial wrinkles, stretch marks, and discoloration.
